Grab a taxi or private shuttle right outside the terminal. In just 25 minutes, you’ll enjoy a scenic ride through lush island landscapes on your way to West End.

Arrival to West End

Diving in Roatan

Our Travel Tips

The coral reefs here are stunning. With clear waters, soft white sand, and walls full of corals, sponges, and gorgonians, you’ll see turtles, parrotfish, groupers, dolphins, sharks, and incredible macro life. The reef is home to over 90% of Caribbean marine species.

Roatan is part of the Bay Islands Marine Park—a protected area under active conservation. Over 10 NGOs work on the island promoting ecosystem care and education. You can help too. Check the link to learn about the main conservation groups and how to support their work through donations or volunteering.

Best Season

You’ll enjoy sunshine from December to September. Rainy season is October to November—but diving is possible all year, even in warm tropical rain.

Visibility and temperature

Visibility is generally excellent, up to 60 meters, with rare exceptions due to weather or currents. Water stays between 25–27°C most of the year. On cooler days, it can drop to 23°C.

What to Wear

A swimsuit and rash guard are usually enough. For 3 dives a day, a 3mm shorty or full wetsuit is perfect. Keep in mind the salt content here is higher than in many places.
